Hello, we are Simon & Julie Whitten and we have had the privilege of sharing 500+ wedding days over the last 15 years. Actually it’s closer to 600 but we stopped counting at 500! This is not bragging, but experience and experience counts for a huge amount in wedding photography.
In the Summer of 2014, we moved back to Simon’s home town of Harrogate (Julie is from the USA) and the Yorkshire Dales after 10 years in the wilderness (as Julie called it) that is the North Yorkshire Moors. Though Yorkshire based, we work as wedding photographers & film-makers all over the UK from country houses in England to marquees in Wales to castles in Scotland and further afield with weddings to date covered including;
hotels in Ireland, chateaux in France, a medieval hilltop village in Italy, a taverna in Greece, The Waldorf Astoria Hotel in the USA, beach weddings in Mexico & Australia, a 5* resort in China & a converted mill in New Zealand. Our style & approach can best be described as a low-key, minimally invasive mainly documentary (story-telling) one but with an option to capture a few essential group/family pictures and of course a (lightly directed) exclusive bride & groom session.
Simon enjoys cycling, running, and cooking and Julie prefers swimming, sewing and not cooking. We have a 10 year old daughter Honey who is the light of our life. As a family, we enjoy travel and camping and spend as much time as we can in our favourite country, France.
