Charlotte & Ed’s Hampshire Marquee Wedding (Part 01)

Charlotte & Ed’s Hampshire marquee wedding took place in the delightful village of Hartley Wintney in Hampshire.

At least I think it’s a village…or maybe it’s a town as it’s quite large for a village…

Anyway, Charlotte & Ed’s wedding took place here on Saturday 21st June with a ceremony at St John’s church followed by a marquee reception at the bride’s parents house on the common.

This wedding, like so many that I cover, was a spin off from another, – Sam & Andy’s wedding that took place at Castle Howard in Yorkshire a few years back and it was great to catch up with them and a few familiar faces.

Charlotte wore a Ronald Joyce dress from Confetti & Lace of Farnham and Ed a morning suit complete with top hat.

Flowers were by White Lilac and the cake by the bride’s mother, Jocelyn.

A string trio played throughout the drinks reception and the evening band was Juice Box.

Catering was by Whitewater Catering and marquee by Carron Marquees.

The couple honeymooned in Zanzibar. Or The Seychelles. Perhaps both, – it was a secret!

The highlight of this wedding and what made it especially ‘unique’ was the bunting decorated walk that was created across the common, through the trees along a winding path between house and church. Absolutely delightful and a bit of a change from a white Rolls!

Charlotte & Ed’s Hampshire Marquee Wedding (Part 02)

Continuing on from Part 01 of Charlotte & Ed’s Hampshire marquee wedding.

Why a Yorkshire based wedding photographer for a wedding in Hampshire?

Well the groom, Ed, is originally from Yorkshire, but that’s not why.
(“You can take the lad out of Yorkshire, but you can’t take Yorkshire out of the lad”!)

It’s because I photographed their friends, Sam & Andy’s wedding a couple of years ago at Castle Howard, just a few miles from my front door and it was based on the results from that job that I booked this one.

Also, although Yorkshire based, more than 50% of the weddings I cover are out of county, – anywhere UK-wide or overseas with an average 4-5 weddings per annum outside of the UK.

I do enjoy these ‘road trip’ weddings and it’s always inspiring to work somewhere new.

Wedding: Gemma & Jack, Chateau de la Cazine, Limousin, France

The first of 5 weddings I am photographing in France this year began with Gemma & Jack’s wedding at the stunning Chateau de la Cazine in the heart of the Limousin region of France.

It was my first visit to both the venue and the region and a beautiful part of France it certainly is and easily accessible with a modern but tiny airport at Limoges.

This wedding was a typical 2 day coverage affair with a relaxed half day prior before the main event on the following day.

Here’s a link through to that first day with the full wedding day to follow shortly…

Oh and the picture? Jack is a professional footballer, so it would have been somewhat unusual not to have some kind of football link at their wedding and despite the World Cup going on in Brazil right now, not a single guest was watching any of the matches on TV! But then someone found a ball late in the evening on the Friday…

Clementine & Alex’s Ripon Cathedral & Swinton Park Wedding

She’s been patiently waiting for 2 weeks now whilst I went to my brother James’s wedding (who also filmed Clemmy & Alex’s wedding) in Scotland followed by a family holiday, but that wait is now over.

Drum roll… ta da!

I was especially looking forward to photographing this one it being the latest in a sequence of weddings that began many years ago with the most recent in that chain being Ali & George’s marquee wedding at Jervaulx Abbey in April.

But this was Clem & Alex’s day with a beautiful ceremony at Ripon Cathedral, my second in as many weeks, followed by a reception at the ever fantastic Swinton Park (30-40 weddings covered to date at the venue!) near Masham in North Yorkshire.

Clementine wore Caroline Castigliano from Harrogate Bridal Collection and the bridesmaids grey/blue dresses.

The floristry was by a friend Sasha and the car a Bentley.

The bride made the cake!

Music during the day was provided by Groove Anatomy with the full band in the evening.

The couple honeymooned in Tuscany, Florence and Venice.
