Swinton Park Wedding For Two

S089
Harriet & Magnus’s Swinton Park Wedding For Two took place the other day at this most stunning Yorkshire wedding venue that we have photographed some 40+ weddings at to date.

There’s nowhere to ‘hide’ with a wedding for two as it’s just the couple and the photographer other than a pair of witnesses for the ceremony and the registrars.

So it’s great when you have a couple like Harriet & Magnus for whom the record of their day is so important even if the coverage is simply ceremony & an exclusive couple shoot.

It’s also great that there is nothing else competing for the couples attention, – no family or friends they have to talk to, no drinks or canapes, no formal family pics and so the shoot tends to be more relaxed.

The results speak for themselves…but unfortunately there is a ‘privacy clause’ on this one so just the one picture.

Tamara & Charlie’s East Yorkshire Wedding (Part 1)

East-Yorkshire-Wedding-116

At last, Summer has returned to Yorkshire! OK, it may have been for one day only, but was perfect for Tamara & Charlie’s East Yorkshire wedding.

Tamara wore Jenny Packham and the groom traditional tails with bridesmaids in cornflower blue and groomsmen in Yorkshire Cricket Club ties.

Charlie & his groomsmen lunched at The Wellington in Lund and the girls at The Pipe & Glass in South Dalton before travelling by twin Rolls Royce Phantom’s to St Mary’s church in Kirkburn.

Flowers were by Mary Jane Vaughan.

A relaxed drinks reception took place with a handful of family pictures and couple only exclusive with catering by Cerruti’s of Beverley and the marquee was by Florida.

Kat & James’s Harrogate Wedding (Part 1)

Harrogate-Wedding-110

We’ve split this wedding over 2 posts as Kat & James’s Harrogate wedding was a pretty long day with 2 drinks receptions, the first in Knaresborough and the other at the reception proper, The Sportsman’s Arm’s near Pateley Bridge in the Nidderdale Valley.

I first met the couple about a year or so back and just new that rain or shine, they were going to have an absolutely cracking wedding, simply because of the people they are. And so they did.

It began with the usual bridal prep, on this occasion at the bride’s parents house in Knaresborough with the ceremony conducted by the very welcoming Rev. Andrew Pierse at St John’s church.

Kat wore a dress the designer of which she can’t remember and the groom a dark blue suit. Flowers were by Lucy Macnicoll, Rolls Royce from Keith Snowden and cake from Betty’s of Harrogate.

Post-ceremony, the first drinks reception took place on a terrace opposite the church overlooking Nidd Gorge and the iconic Knaresborough viaduct over the River Nidd.

Part 2 at The Sportsman’s Arms can be viewed by clicking this link.

Kat & James’s Sportsman’s Arms Wedding (Part 2)

Sportsmans-Arms-Wedding-045

Following on from Part 1 of Kat & James’s Harrogate wedding at St John’s church in Knaresborough. Part 2 of Kat & James’s Sportsman’s Arms wedding which took place with a marquee in the village of Wath in the Nidderdale Valley.

This venue holds a special place in our hearts, that is Julie and I because it’s where we had our own wedding reception a few years back and coincidently (and it is pure coincidence), at the time of writing and posting this blog page, it is actually our wedding anniversary. Today. But enough about us…

Well maybe a little more… On our wedding day, it was raining when we arrived on the 10th August at The Sportsman’s and so it was on Saturday 1st August for Kat & James, but after some on/off showers, the sun eventually stayed out and it remained a glorious afternoon & evening.

Special mention in regard to the band. We see a lot of bands and some are good and some less so, but this one was really good, especially as the lead singer Gavin asked how I’d like the lighting and if there was anything else he could do to help set the environment for the dancing. There are a few pics of the band towards the end of this post and here’s a link to their site.

A full gallery with international print ordering facility will appear here soon, as soon as Kat & James are back from their honeymoon in Tanzania and the island of Pemba (off Zanzibar).
