Kimberley & Rashpal’s Wedding Part 02

Continuing on from Part 01 of Kimberley & Rashpal’s wedding that took place at the Tong Road Gudawara in Leeds, proceedings moved to Rudding Park in Harrogate.

It could have been sunnier, but it wasn’t cold and there were some spectacular Autumnal colours in the grounds which couldn’t have complemented the couple’s red & gold outfits any more perfectly.

After a short exclusive session with the B&G in the grounds, we covered a few essential family groups and then it was off for a costume change for the bride & groom (and time for Rashpal to lose the beard!).

The chapel blessing conducted by Father Ian was as powerful & emotive as the Sikh wedding ceremony with singing lead by Kimberley’s cousins from South Africa.

Part 03 follows here.

Kimberley & Rashpal’s Wedding Part 03

Following on from Part 02, is this Part 03 the concluding chapter of Kimberley & Rashpal’s wedding day.

After a great confetti dash, the wedding party moved inside for drinks and canapes with a few more family pics and a second short session with the couple on their own.

The wedding breakfast comprised some fantastic Indian food with with evening music and entertainment provided by Jam Entertainment.

Some of the other people involved in this wedding were: car provided by Superior Motor Cars, floristry by Kirstie at Where Angels Play and cake by the bride herself.

All in all, I have attended some very special weddings and every now and again, something outstanding comes along and this was one of those days. All 16 hours of it!

Kaylie & Tom’s wedding in Provence – Chateau de Massillan

Despite being Provence and early Summer, the forecast for this one was not looking good for the evening, – the last thing you need for an outdoor ceremony and dinner on the terrace.
By 8pm it predicted thunderstorms, so not looking good…!!

Kaylie & Tom chose the gorgeous Chateau de Massillan near Orange in Provence for their wedding, a 2 day affair with picnic and BBQ on Day 01 followed by the actual wedding day on the 28th June.

The bride wore Johanna Hehir and the groom a Leonard Jay suit with the fabulous flowers by local florist Blandine.

The ceremony took place outdoors under the shade of the large plane trees in the chateau grounds where the picnic had taken place the previous day.
It was conducted by the couples good friend George (with accompaniment by the cicadas in the trees) and followed by a refreshing Prosecco and delicious canape reception.

The 4 course wedding breakfast was held in the open air internal courtyard of the chateau and that promised thunderstorm…?

Well it did come as predicted, dramatically with some lightning flashes during mains and a few drops during dessert, but it didn’t come down properly until everyone had moved inside for the dancing with band Beer Pressure.

Kaylie & Tom honeymooned in Provence & Paris followed by Miami & Belize later this year.

Alex & James’s Autumn Wedding Photography at Middleton Lodge

Autumn-Wedding-Photography_103

Alex & James’s Autumn wedding photography took place at one of our most regular and visited venues, the fabulous Middleton Lodge in North Yorkshire.

I had more than a little personal connection with this wedding in that the bride’s mother Susanne is our bookkeeper and I suggested they at least look at Middleton Lodge when considering their venue as it would suit their requirements perfectly. They took that advice and the results in highlight form are below!

Alex wore Justin Alexander from Miranda Marie of Yarm and James and blue suit with makeup (Alex’s!) by Emma from Jo Leversuch.

Flowers were by Yvonne Dennis and cake by Rhian Crusher and band Jonny Ross with the couple honeymooning in West Coast USA.

The ceremony itself took place at St Michael & All Angel’s in the village of Middleton Tyas and was conducted by the Rev. David Lewis.

Veronica & Jim’s Scottish Wedding For Two

VTR115

I say Veronica & Jim’s Scottish Wedding For Two, but it ended up as Veronica & Jim’s Scottish Wedding For Four as V’s parent’s ‘crashed’ it.

In a good way, – they were welcome, but originally I’d been heading North for a wedding for 2 at this fabulous West Coast Scotland venue I have been to 5 or 6 times perviously.

Glenapp Castle in Ballantrae in Ayrshire is a superb 5* castle/hotel occupying a unique position on the side of a hill looking over to the conical island of Ailsa Craig (where the curling stones come from!) and the Isle of Arran.

The weather was a little against us as were the midges down by the lake and it was full on wet & windy by the time we hit the harbour, but nethertheless, Veronica & Jim had a great wedding day.

Portrait: Carolyn & Dustin, Lot et Garonne, France

One month after my last visit to the delightful Chateau de Lisse in the Lot et Garonne region of South West France, I found myself back for my third wedding at the venue.

Being a British wedding photographer (albeit one with a base in France), I might have expected to have photographed a few more (Brits) but the score so far is 2 Australian and 1 Irish grooms, plus 1 Australian, 1 American and 1 Irish bride!

Anyway, here are 30 highlight pics from Carolyn (American) and Dustin’s (Australian) pre-wedding location photo-shoot around the grounds of CDL the day before their wedding.

Carolyn & Dustin’s full wedding day is available to view by clicking this link.

Below are the pictures from their pre-shoot and a Vimeo based slideshow production.

Kimberley & Rashpal’s Pre-Wedding Photo-Shoot

Where has the Summer gone?

It started well and the sun was shining last Wednesday, but the temperature didn’t match.

And it’s not because the location for Kim & Rashpal’s pre-wedding photo-shoot was coastal Scarborough because it’s been the same throughout Yorkshire for the last few weeks.

But the light was good and to a photographer, that’s the important bit, – it’s all about the quality of the light.

Scarborough is my favourite location for a pre-wedding or location portrait shoot as it’s got great Victorian seafront architecture, big skies, beach huts, covered arcade areas and the only element we couldn’t use the other day was the beach as it was an incoming high tide. Can’t have it all…

October 24th will be the couples wedding day with a Sikh ceremony wedding in Leeds followed by a reception at Rudding Park, Harrogate, my home town.

I’m really looking forward to this one…even if Summer will definitely be long gone by then!

Sophie & Ollie’s West Yorkshire Marquee Wedding, Part 01

Last week was a busy week. The busiest week of the year for weddings with 3, this being the final one.

I shoot more marquee weddings than any other type of wedding or venue so Sophie & Ollie’s West Yorkshire marquee wedding was another typical day in the office for me…and it’s a great office to work in!

Sophie & Ollie’s wedding came about as a result of a wedding I photographed last year for Louise & Christian with Christian’s parents being Ollie’s god-parents.
I don’t know if that makes Ollie & Christian god-brothers, or something…

So it was another gloriously sunny day in a field on top of a grassy hill in West Yorkshire, unlike our pre-wedding photo-shoot where it did nothing but rain.

Sophie wore Pronovias sourced from the Bond Street shop in London and the groom Ollie, traditional morning suit and the 6 adult bridesmaids were dressed in grey.

Flowers were by Tracy at The Butterfly Net and the car, a cream MGB by Sophie’s dad, John.

The ceremony at St John The Evangelist in Upper Denby was conducted by the very accommodating Rev. Jeff and during the ceremony, Sophie’s sister Frankie sang ‘Grow Old With Me’ by Tom O’Dell.

Part 02 of Sophie & Ollie’s wedding continues here with the reception.

Sophie & Ollie’s West Yorkshire Marquee Wedding, Part 02

Continuing on from Part 01 of Sophie & Ollie’s West Yorkshire marquee wedding that took place on Saturday the 9th Aug in the village of Upper Denby, is Part 02, the reception.

This took place in a hilltop field with extensive views of the beautiful West Yorkshire countryside and just a short stroll from the church.

After a few family pics back at Sophie’s parents, the B&G arrived in Sophie’s father’s open top cream MGB for the champagne reception.
Might have technically been a Prosecco reception as these things should generally be called these days!

The catering was supplied by ‘The 3 Acres‘, a nearby local landmark restaurant with strong family connections (it’s owned and run by the groom’s god-parents) and instead of a cake cake, the couple had a stack of cheeses ‘cake’.

The evening entertainment was provided by wedding band The Juke Boxers and the couple are honeymooning/honeymooned in Tanzania and Zanzibar.

Swinton Park Summer Wedding: Nadia & Eric (Part 01)

Two of the greatest Swinton Park weddings that I have photographed to date have been on Thursdays with this, Nadia & Eric’s wedding day being the second of these.

The sun shone all day which at a Swinton Park Summer wedding is exactly what you’d want and it added real vibrancy to this most colourful of weddings.

The wedding itself was Muslim culture (Nadia’s family) meets Chinese culture (Eric’s family) in a quintessential English country house setting.

Nadia wore a gorgeous traditional dress in a colour I hope she won’t mind me calling peach with silver trim and Eric traditional outfit in white with red & silver trim.

The stunning bouquets, buttonholes and floral displays were by Stems. with hair and makeup by Debs at Love Hair & Beauty plus Zarina.

A Muslim ceremony followed directly after a civil ceremony in the library with a drinks reception in the drawing room and outside after that.

There are too many pictures to omit from even this highlight post so a second post follows here featuring the couple, speeches, dancing and fireworks.
