Jenny & James Chateau de Lisse Wedding Part II

Following on from Part I of Jenny & James Chateau de Lisse wedding is Part II, their actual wedding day.

I use the word ‘day’ in it’s broadest sense as this was the latest starting ceremony I have covered in 15 years/600+ weddings with a scheduled start time of 6pm.

In the end it was 6.20pm, but in the late afternoon/early evening sunlight in an idyllic location by the lake below the chateau conducted by Jenny’s brother Jeff.

The meal was also outside on the terrace at 8.30pm and followed by speeches at table and dancing in La Salle de Dance.

Some weddings require little description. This was one of those weddings and the results speak for themselves.

They spoke to Jenny & James for sure…

Trevor & Andy’s Rudding Park Wedding

Rudding-Park-Wedding-005

It was a day of sunshine and thunderstorms for Trevor & Andy’s Rudding Park wedding, but fortunately the thunderstorm bit happened during the meal, so had little effect on the day other than some dramatic action on the other side of the windows.

Trevor & Andy wore near-matching suits with subtle differences in the detail and tailoring and flowers were by Rudding Park’s resident florist Colette.

The cake was dual effort combining the skills of Aunty Sheila with pro cake maker Poppy Pickering.

A soprano singer sung during the civil ceremony in the Radcliffe Room and a string quartet played during the blessing in Rudding Park chapel conducted by Anna-Louise Haigh which took place after the meal with evening DJ provided by Event Music.

A great day and bunch of people and thank you to Trevor & Andy for choosing and trusting me for this one.

Wedding film to follow shortly plus international print ordering facility available by clicking here, but in the meantime, here are the highlights:

Caroline & Charlie’s Papakata Wedding

Papakata-Wedding-188

Saturday 4th July was the date of Caroline & Charlie’s Papakata wedding at St Edith’s and on the village green in the delightful village of Bishop Wilton near York.

The day started as a damp and drizzly one, but the sun popped out on cue, just prior to the ceremony conducted by the Rev. Andrew and Father James (Ampleforth, James’s old school).

Caroline wore (appropriately) Caroline Castigliano and the groom a grey morning suit.

Flowers were by Nattrass of Darlington, marquee by Papakata, catering by The Yorkshire Party Company and music (day) a steel band and (evening), Chris Hilton’s Little Big Band.

Caroline & Charlie are honeymooning in Vancouver and West Coast Canada.

Below, a selection  of highlight pics from their day with full gallery with international print ordering facility here.

Suzie & Matt’s North Yorkshire Marquee Wedding

Suzie & Matt got married last week. If you were there, you will know this! Suzie & Matt’s North Yorkshire marquee wedding took place at St Mary’s in the village of Wath near Ripon.

The vicar was Tim who also conducted Cynthia & Richard’s wedding the Sunday previously, but completely different church.

It was a hot day. Not as hot as it’s been this last week, but pretty hot and complete with blue skies and fluffy white clouds which is what everyone hopes for with a marquee reception in the middle of a field!

Suzie wore Caroline Castigliano and the men, traditional morning suits with the bridesmaids Andrea and sister Jilly in cornflower blue.

The blue Rolls was courtesy of Keith Snowden Cars and florist Sheila Danby with marquee by Classic and catering by CWC. The band was Touch The Pearl and fabulous fireworks kindly and generously provided by a family friend.

Below is a selection of highlights with full gallery including international print ordering facility here.

2 words: utter perfection.

We absolutely LOVE the pics and can’t wait to see more.

Bring on the wedding film!

Sending very best wishes to you and Julie from (piping hot) Rome!

Cynth & Rich xxx

It was a busy weekend with Helen & Ed’s wedding on the Saturday followed by this, Cynthia & Richard’s Castle Howard wedding photography…plus we were filming this one also.

Cynthia wore a dress made of hundreds of tiny flowers by Oscar de la Renta and the groom traditional tails with the bridesmaids in purple.

The car was courtesy of Superior Motor Cars and the guests traveled from church in Helmsley to Castle Howard in a pair of red London double-decker buses.

Floristry was a double-team affair with church flowers by The Topiary Tree and at the venue by Red Floral with cake by The Frostery.

A ‘Mardi Gras’ style band entertained during the drinks reception and the evening band were The Fanatics with the finale being a show of firedancing.

Cynthia & Richard are honeymooning in Rome and on the Amalfi coast in Italy.

Helen & Ed’s Middleton Lodge June Wedding

Middleton-Lodge-June-Wedding-001

“Perfect timing Simon! Just sat down with a beer as the evening thunder storm rumbles away and this comes through!
Breathtaking pictures, I had a big lump in my throat through all of them, we’re both delighted with them.
We hope you had an enjoyable day regardless of being on the job, the pictures prove to us what we thought all along: that everybody was laughing all day long!”  Ed.

Helen & Ed’s Middleton Lodge June wedding was something a bit special and the fat lady sang from start to finish…at least from the photographers viewpoint! Even a bit of light rain had no affect during the drinks reception and mixed with splashes of sunshine, the weather was quite kind.

There was a real pastel colour theme to the day of pale pinks, blues and yellows (bridesmaids dresses and flowers) with floristry by Eliza Blooms and cake by The Cake Works of Darlington.

A sax player entertained throughout the drinks reception and the evening band were Groove Manuva.

Helen & Ed are at the time of writing, currently honeymooning in Valencia, Spain.

Below is a highlights gallery & slideshow production from the day with full gallery with print ordering facility to follow shortly now available here.

The Harrogate Marquee Wedding of Rosie & Hamish

Just seen the video and wanted to say how lovely it is. Brought tears to my eyes – and I’d managed to hold it together on the day!! Thanks again. Tim (FOB)
Saturday 13th June was the Harrogate Marquee wedding of Rosie & Hamish taking place at All Saints church and Hamish’s parents home, The Old Rectory in Kirkby Overblow.

It was supposed to be wet. It wasn’t. The last thing anyone wants on a wedding day is rain, but especially so with a garden based marquee wedding and against everything the met office said was happening, the sun came out for some of the day. And it did not rain.

Rosie wore Caroline Castigliano from The Harrogate Wedding Lounge and was attended by her 4 bridesmaids; Emily, Emily, Sophie & Katy.

During the ceremony & drinks reception, Georgina Wells played her harp and evening entertainment was courtesy of dancefloor fillers, Groove Anatomy (plus The Notorious B.I.G. between sets).

The flowers and cake were both by the family and catering by a great company we have worked with several times before, Mike Kernall.

Rosie & Hamish will be honeymooning in Italy taking in; Portofino, Sorrento and the Amalfi coast.

A great wedding, – great people and day and below is their wedding film in 2 parts and a highlights selection from their photography with full gallery to follow shortly now available to view and order prints from here.

Castelnau Des Fieumarcon Wedding – Fin & Dom

Hi Simon, we’ve just had a look at the film and absolutely love it, – it is AWESOME!!! Fin & Dom

My post in regard to this wedding is a little different this week.

Normally, I struggle to whittle a finished set of over 500+ finished images down to ‘just’ 150 or so (for the blog post) and it’s an agonising process as every image that makes the final cut, is an integral part of the story.

A question that is sometimes asked is “can you tell a story in a single picture” and the answer is both yes and no.

Yes in that it depends upon what that ‘story’ is and if it’s a single image that defines a moment (or short period or event) in time, it can be done, but in many cases, only to the photographer or the client/subject.

In regard to a wedding day, I’d say no, it cannot be done.

For instance, I could define Fin & Dom’s Castelnau Des Fieumarcon wedding in a single image…to me, but it almost certainly will not define it to anyone else for the simple reason, you (unless you are the B&G or a guest!) were not there and so do not have your memories to add to this single image.

But this single image could define their wedding for me:

Jessica & Paul’s Wedding at Middleton Lodge

To begin, a slideshow production from Jessica & Paul’s wedding at Middleton Lodge that took place on the 9th May.

The 9th May was another one of those days where the weather forecast said it would be one thing, but the reality was somewhat different with sunshine not predicted until the evening, arriving pretty soon after they arrived at Middleton Lodge for the drinks reception.

Jess wore a Stella York wedding dress from Dobinson’s of Darlington with makeup by sister Lauren and for their wedding car, the couple self-drove a Jaguar 4.2 E-Type with other wedding cars by Elite.

Flowers were by Elm Ridge, cake by Sadie May and an evening photo-booth.

Evening entertainment was in the form of a Ceilidh band Hedgehog Skins plus fireworks by Optimum Fireworks.

Below are a set of highlight images from the day with full gallery including print ordering facility available to view/order by clicking here.
