Lucy & James traveled from Blacktoft church to the bride’s parents farm a couple of miles away sat within fields of vibrant green and yellows matched by a perfect blue sky.
A bit too perfect maybe as it was rather bright and hot for the guests during the drinks reception, but still much more welcome than that wet stuff!
During a pink champagne and canapes drink reception, the guests were entertained by a jazz quartet and amused themselves with lawn croquet and boules.
The marquee itself was actually inside one of the barns which made for some quite interesting lighting and you certainly knew that you were in a rural setting as the cows next door would occasionally ‘heckle’ during the speeches as if on cue causing much hilarity.
The cake was provided by ‘Sugar & Spice’ of Cottingham with the marquee by ‘Florida Marquees’ and the catering by ‘Andrew Wood’ of York.
Lucy & James’s first dance was followed by a couple of sets from a 20 piece band with the couple honeymooning in Italy for 2 weeks.
