I used to say to my clients, “it doesn’t rain as much in this country as we like to imagine it does”.
In previous years, that would have been correct with an average 1 in 30 weddings being classed as truly ‘wet’.
Not this year, where a full dry day seems increasingly rare, – especially this so-called ‘Summer’!!
So Donna & Adam experienced a typical 2011 ‘Summer’s’ day then…
Donna is actually the in-house wedding planner for The Devonshire Arms at Bolton Abbey so knows a thing or two about weddings.
Her dress was sourced from ‘Hollywood Dreams’ in London and the groom Adam, wore blue tails and ivory cravat.
Flowers were by Vanessa Wellock of ‘Wildflowers’ and the cake by ‘Patisserie Viennoise’ and wedding car, a cream 1940′s Rolls Royce Silver Wraith Sedanca de Ville from ‘Superior Motor Cars’.
Entertainment was provided during the drinks reception by ‘Leodian String Quartet’, with the organ in Ripon Cathedral played by Dr Andrew Padmore, conductor of the York Philharmonic who just happens to be Adam’s uncle.
Further evening entertainment after the meal but before the first dance was provided by Tristan Mackay singing accompanied by his guitar and casino tables downstairs.
The couple are currently honeymooning in Las Vegas (keeping the gambling theme running!) and Florida.
